I have both DataMan and Data Control. Neither of them ever match each other or the iPhone Settings number. I don”t know why the math should be so difficult. Also, neither app is very polished, especially Data Control. They are quite a few of these sorts of apps, and they”ll probably get better in time, now that more people are on tiered plans. Good post, though, and any monitoring method is a good idea. Camera: Of course… Gotta be there. I”ve said from the begging “I”m not buying one until it has a camera.” That is the one thing holding this device back (In my mind). Two cameras, just like the I phone is what I expect. Once the camera is there, the # of uses for the iPad explodes… SD card: Doubt it. Just don”t hear people saying “man, I wish this had and SD card slot…” Don”t see a bunch of value there… No outrage – I think we”re all (3GS and earlier users) used to Jobs being a colossal douche when it comes to new functionality and excluding previous customers, all in the quest for his next money fix. Totally expected. I”m surprised we even got iOS 4.2. I love my iPhone, but Android looks better on a weekly basis. Anything to monetarily express to Jobs how sick of being screwed early iDevice users are. I”d have to agree with most. It”s a good first attempt at bridging the gap apple doesn”t want to bridge, but $2.99 is a bit steep for a product that feels still in beta. Most of the reason I gave it a 3.5 stars is because I really did enjoy the “browsing” experience. I wish safari had intuitive search terms, etc… as a browser, it”s functional, when it comes to viewing flash, eh. better luck next update? 4.2 is very disappointing, with AirPlay and AirPrint being the biggest failures. So, now Apple is in the mode of introducing crippled features, that we hope will get better in time? What happened to the “we won”t release it until we can do it right” approach (e.g. copy and paste)? Apple is really starting to feel the heat of competition, and these rushed, half-baked features will hurt their reputation.
I’ve been absent for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this site. Thank you, I will try and check back more often. How often do you update your web site?
