   Wow – 5 minutes after this post; Tveskov (the man who helped come up with the name “Headlight”) knocked on my door.

   This Joost thing is really catching people’s attention. I’ll try and get more invitations from Mr. Werdelin.

   I got my Joost beta a few weeks ago and at first watched it non-stop. The quality is amazing, as is the usability and integration with 3rd party services.

   The problem is content – after watching a show about grizzly bears, a couple of poker tournaments, and some inane interviews with pop stars, I quickly got bored. IMHO Joost will be as successful as the content they serve… if I could open Joost and watch Curb Your Enthusiasm on demand then I would never leave my house again!

   I completely agree – as do the Joost guys themselves. I know from talks with Werdelin that Joost is NOT about long tail user generated niche content. It’s about rather traditional high quality content (TV) – served through the Internet.

   Joost just signed a big content deal with Viacom a few weeks back (owner of Comedy Central / MTV etc.) and more media companies of this size should be just on the doorstep … It’s plausible to assume that content quality will quickly increase.
